Paper Flower Workshops
Details
This workshop is all about paper and texture. Kids will work with different types of paper (baking paper, cardstock, newspaper, and paper towels) learning how each one can be cut, folded, layered, and shaped into flowers and leaves. A restrained winter palette will help bring attention to the different textures and surfaces, with painted pasta and pumpkin seeds adding small decorative accents.
Instructor: Natalia Handoga is a professional illustrator and graphic designer who creates posters and illustrations for movies, theater, and music. In her workshops, she goes “beyond the brush,” introducing kids to techniques such as metal embossing, quilling, printmaking, and paper construction. She often uses everyday materials like pasta, seeds, buttons, corks, and foil to show children creative possibilities in ordinary things. They don’t just draw - they also cut, tear, crumple, twist, scratch, print, build, and experiment.
